Simple Dog or Helper Dog?

Hyperbole-and-a-half-book-coverHeck, why not both! If you’ve ever read Allie Brosh’s popular blog, Hyperbole and a Half, you know Simple Dog and Helper Dog. For the month of March we’ll be reading Brosh’s graphic novel “Hyperbole and a Half,” a compilation from her blog as well as new material. Even though this is a graphic novel with fairly simplistic illustrations, believe me – it’s not a children’s book. Funny, sad, poignant, honest, Brosh’s novel goes a long way toward breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. And even though it seems strange to say since it deals with depression – did I mention it’s really really funny?

Ever since one of our group members chose “Hyperbole and a Half,” I’ve heard from several people that this is their all-time favorite book. Definitely pick up a copy from the Reference Desk and join us at Napper Tandy’s on Tuesday March 28 at 7:30 pm!
