Hi all, if you’re joining us for Titles on Tap tonight to discuss “The Difference Engine” (which I hope you will be!), we may try to meet on the back deck. So, if there’s no rain and you don’t see us right away when you walk into the left-hand-side of Napper Tandy’s, try walking straight through past the bathrooms to the back deck. Cross your fingers, see you 6/28 at 7:30 pm!
Can’t join us tonight? Get a jump on the next book, a runaway hit from Sweden, “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman. I have it from some Swedes that his name is pronounced “EW-vah,” sort of like how Wall-E says Eva’s name in Disney’s “Wall-E,” but will more of an OOO sound on the first syllable. This book is an international best seller and has been made into a movie in Sweden, and for better or worse is also a best seller in the USA at the moment. This means we have very limited copies of the physical book, so if you really want a paper copy, run – don’t walk – to the Reference Desk. There’s good news for audio-lovers though! We have the audiobook version of this book instantly available on hoopla, no waiting, no fines, free to all Norwood residents. Myself, I’ll be listening to the audio on hoopla so I don’t have to worry about mispronouncing all those Swedish names 😉
Hope you can join us Tuesday July 26 @ 7:30 pm for “A Man Called Ove!”
